About Lake Shore Systems

Lake Shore Systems has been designing and manufacturing heavy machinery for the maritime and mining industries for 163 years.  Founded in the U.P. in 1858, we are still striving to be the premier provider of innovative products and solutions for our customers.

Lake Shore’s shipboard machinery is on every US Navy surface ship class – elevators, cranes, ramps, anchor windlasses, and capstans are a few examples.  We are also now building sections of submarines to support Navy shipbuilders who don’t have enough people or space to build all the ships our nation’s defense plan requires.  One thing Republicans and Democrats in Congress agree on is we need more ships!

The Cannon Mining product line provides high-quality, robust equipment to operate in harsh underground hard rock mining environments.  We make drill jumbos, bolters, scalers, and a variety of utility trucks including explosives carriers.

Lake Shore has a reputation for high quality and exceptional customer service.  This is only possible with our exceptional workforce.  The skilled men and women of Lake Shore have built a family-oriented culture of trust, growth, and empowerment.  We value demonstrated skills and results over credentials, and encourage team members to fly as high as their wings will take them.
